This inaugural bottling from the grain to glass, Hunmanby based distillery, has been released ahead of its single malt whisky, which will launch in 2019.

Producing the county’s first single malt whisky, the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery has set out to create a whisky that is filled with their own unique spirit. Committed to making every drop of their whisky from first principles, they only use locally and sustainably produced ingredients. All the barley and spring water used at the distillery is grown and sourced on their family farm.

Commenting on the launch, Tom Mellor, Co-Founder and Distiller at the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, said: “Making a whisky from scratch requires curiosity, commitment and, most of all, time. We’ve invested heavily in all three, taking the best of tradition and following our instincts to produce what promises to be a unique, noteworthy whisky. Our first release of Maturing Malt and Distillery Project series is the forerunner to our single malt and offers a wonderful snapshot of what’s to come.”

Limited to 2,000 bottles, The Spirit of Yorkshire Maturing Malt Spirit Drink, is now available to order from www.spiritofyorkshire.com for a RRP of £39.95.
