JIM BEAM ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF A NEW UNFILTERED KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON

Beam Suntory has announced the launch of a new limited-edition expression, from its Jim Beam Kentucky bourbon brand.

Jim Beam Distiller’s Cut (50% ABV) is an unfiltered Kentucky straight bourbon, which has been produced using whiskeys aged between 5 and 6 years old, that were hand selected by Fred Noe, Jim Beam's seventh generation Master Distiller.

After aging, bourbon typically goes through a chill filtration process, which involves forcing the liquid through a dense filter to remove fatty acids formed during distillation. Jim Beam Distiller's Cut has skipped this step, resulting in a bourbon which has a fuller taste and palate feel.

Jim Beam Distiller’s Cut, is said to deliver aromas of soft charred oak, sweet caramel, vanilla and hints of dried fruit. Followed by a smooth and complex mouthfeel with a warm, lightly charred oak finish.

Commenting on the launch, Rob Mason, Vice President of North American Whiskey at Beam Suntory, said: "At Jim Beam, we are consistently innovating to offer our consumers a wide range of products. Jim Beam Distiller's Cut is different from our other products because of the post-aging process. Our Master Distiller has decided to release this batch at a time when bourbon drinkers, more than ever, are anxious to discover something unique."

Jim Beam Distiller's Cut, will be available later this month from selected retailers in the US, for a RRP of $22.99.
