LAGAVULIN LAUNCHES ITS 2016 ISLAY JAZZ FESTIVAL BOTTLING

Diageo has today announced the launch of its annual Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival limited edition bottling, which will be available exclusively from the distillery’s shop.

Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival 2016 (54.5% ABV) is no age statement single malt, made with whiskies from both refill American oak hogsheads and first fill American oak barrels.

This latest release from the iconic Islay distillery, is said to boast notes of honey and fresh fruit, delivering syrupy harmonies on the palate, but ending with the classic Lagavulin smoke.

Commenting on the launch, Georgie Crawford, Distillery Manager at Lagavulin, said: “This year’s limited edition is extra special. It encapsulates 200 years of Lagavulin and one of our busiest and best times on Islay – the Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival.”

Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival 2016, joins Lagavulin 8 Year Old and Lagavulin 25 Year Old, which were launched earlier this year as part of the distillery’s bicentenary celebrations.

Limited to just 6,000 bottles. Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival 2016, is now available directly from the distillery for a RRP of £99.00.
