TOBERMORY LAUNCHES TWO NEW GERMAN EXCLUSIVE EXPRESSIONS

Tobermory Distillery has announced the launch of the first two of six new limited edition single malts.

Exclusive to the German market, both of the new expressions also give consumers the chance of winning a bottle of their recently released 42 Year Old.
Tobermory 20 Year Old

Tobermory 18 Year Old (46.3% ABV) is a one off small batch production that is said to have a light, fresh, floral nose with an oaky, sea salt character and maple syrup notes on the palate, that finishes with a sweet liquorice and cinnamon taste as a result of its maturation in Bourbon casks.

Tobermory 20 Year Old (46.3% ABV) is said to offer a rich, warm nose with a deep rich oak palate. Its Sherry cask maturation gives the malt Christmas spice notes with a lingering sweet, nutty finish.

Exclusively available in Germany, both of the new malts from the Isle of Mull based distillery, include a collectors’ leaflet with tear-off tabs. Consumers can collect the tab from each of the six releases in order to enter the draw for a chance to win a bottle of Tobermory 42 Year-Old.

Launched last month, Tobermory 42 Year-Old is limited to just 650 bottles, and comes presented in bespoke presentation box, which features an exclusive painting of Tobermory’s iconic colourful, waterfront cottages specially created by renowned island artist, Angus Stewart.

Commenting on the news, Alison Gibb, Global Marketing Manager for Distell’s Malts Portfolio, said: “The two latest single malt releases are certain to appeal to those who appreciate the craftsmanship and passion that go into every single bottle of Tobermory. The Tobermory 18 Year-Old Bourbon Cask and 20 Year-Old Sherry Cask epitomise the flavour, aroma and character which make Tobermory such a unique Hebridean whisky. As one of the oldest commercial distilleries still in operation, the latest editions offer whisky fans, collectors and connoisseurs alike the chance to experience the taste of our small batch releases.”

Tobermory 18 and 20 Year Old, will be available later this month from specialist retailers in Germany, for the respective RRP’s of £100.00 and £120.00.
