ILLVA SARONNO ANNOUNCES ITALIAN DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH THE WALSH WHISKEY DISTILLERY

Illva Saronno has announced an exclusive distribution deal in Italy for The Irishman, strengthening its agreement with the Walsh Whiskey Distillery.

The long-established Italian wines and spirits producer and owner of the Disaronno brand, has strengthened its relationship with the Walsh Whiskey Distillery, which began in 2013.

The Irishman - Founders Reserve

It has announced an exclusive distribution agreement for two of Walsh Whiskey’s main products in Italy: The Irishman Single Malt and The Irishman Founder's Reserve.

The Irishman expressions will be sold at selected retailers as well as cocktail and high-end whiskey bars in Italy.

In 2013, the two companies entered a partnership to expand the business through constructing a world-class distillery, maturing warehouses and a visitor centre.

Once commissioned in early 2016, the distillery will be one of the largest independent whiskey distilleries in Ireland. The two production lines, using both pot stills and column stills, will give Walsh Whiskey Distillery the capacity to produce 650,000 cases of whiskey per year.

Commenting on the news, Bernard Walsh, Founder of Walsh Whiskey Distillery said: “I am delighted to be signing this agreement with our strong and valued partner Illva Saronno on behalf of Walsh Whiskey Distillery. We are proud that our ultra-premium The Irishman whiskey will now be distributed across such an important country as Italy.”

The Walsh Whiskey Distillery has also announced this week, that The Irishman has been chosen as the Best Irish Whiskey Brand of the Year, in the highly accredited New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC).

Now in its 6th year, the (NYISC) evaluated and judged almost 500 of the world’s best-distilled spirits covering over 35 countries.
