BENRIACH LAUNCHES NEW HEAVILY PEATED 18 YEAR OLD SINGLE MALT

The award-winning BenRiach Distillery has announced the launch of Latada, a brand-new limited edition 18 Year Old peated single malt, finished in Madeira casks.

BenRiach Latada 18 Year Old (46% ABV) takes its name from the traditional “Latada” or trellised vine system on the island of Madeira, and along with the Elgin based distillery’s Albariza and Dunder bottlings, is the third offering in its range of heavily peated wood finishes.

Distilled from peated malted barley and matured in American oak casks before enjoying a finishing period in fine Madeira casks, selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker, BenRiach Latada is said to deliver notes of peat smoke. heather honey, ripe pear, cantaloupe and candied citrus on the nose, followed by notes of sweet peat, ripe fruit syrup, apricots, warm oak spices and citrus zest on the palate.

Limited to 4,001 bottles, BenRiach Latada 18 Year Old will be available from specialist retailers later this month for a RRP of £71.49.
