Beam Suntory has announced that the ninth annual Laphroaig Live event will broadcast live from Islay on September 24th at 20:00 BST.

Having previously been hosted around the world in countries including Australia, Spain, Germany, Sweden and the USA, this year’s event returns home to the island of Islay to celebrate 200 years of Laphroaig.

Laphroaig 15 Year Old - The official 200th anniversary bottling

As part of this year’s anniversary event, Distillery Manager John Campbell will be joined by five previous Distillery Managers; John McDougall, Denis Nicol, Murdo Reed, Colin Ross and Iain Henderson. He'll also be joined by
Bernhard Schafer - whisky journalist and Master of the Quaich, Emma Andersson - Editor of Allt Om Whisky and Marcel van Gils - author of the official Laphroaig 200th anniversary book.

This year’s tasting line up will be comprised of four special expressions; Laphroaig 15 Year Old – the official 200th anniversary bottling, Laphroaig Cairdeas 2015 - distilled using only the original small stills, Laphroaig 21 Year Old – created for the Friends of Laphroaig 21st Birthday, and a unique Laphroaig 32 Year Old - 100% sherry matured whisky.

Broadcasting live from Laphroaig’s famous maltings floor, one of only a handful left in the whisky industry, John Campbell and our five previous distillery managers will be joined by two experts Bernhard Schafer - whisky journalist and Master of the Quaich and Emma Andersson, Editor of Allt Om Whisky.
