LAGAVULIN TO SPONSOR THE ISLAY JAZZ FESTIVAL FOR A SIXTH YEAR

Diageo has announced that its Lagavulin single malt whisky brand will once again be the headline sponsor for this year’s Islay Jazz Festival.

From September 11th -13th, the Hebridean island will play host to a line-up of leading Scottish and international musicians including Courtney Pine, for what many regard as the jewel in the Scottish jazz calendar.

The Islay Jazz Festival has been running since 1999

It has also been announced that a special limited-edition Jazz Festival bottling of Lagavulin will be available during this year's festival.

Commenting on this year’s event, Georgie Crawford, Operations Manager at Lagavulin Distillery, said: “We are thrilled to once again welcome jazz lovers from all over the world to enjoy outstanding music here at Lagavulin and at the other distilleries and venues across our island. The Jazz Festival is one of the highlights of the year for Islay, and we are proud that this is now the sixth year in which the festival is supported by our sponsorship.”

Since launching in 1999, The Islay Jazz Festival has promoted musicians from over 25 countries and presented fifteen world premieres and is today regarded as a significant jazz event in the UK calendar.
