WOODFORD RESERVE ANNOUNCES UK LAUNCH OF ITS KENTUCKY STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY

Woodford Reserve, has announced the UK launch of its Kentucky Reserve Straight Rye Whiskey, following on from its successful roll out in the US.

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (45.2% ABV) is the brands first permanent rye whiskey expression in their range and has been released in a response in demand for more innovative, top quality whiskey.

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey launching in the UK

Hand-crafted at America’s oldest operating distillery dating back to 1812, Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is made in the traditional style of Kentucky Rye’s, and is said to deliver bold flavours of pepper and tobacco with a long fruit and sweetly spiced finish.

To complement and emphasize the spice characteristics found in the original Woodford Reserve, the new expression uses a mash bill that contains 53% rye, resulting in a liquid that’s both balanced and refreshingly subtle, whilst remaining true to the flavour of the original Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select.

Because of the consistency of the mash, rye whiskey is notoriously more difficult to craft than bourbon, requiring the expertise of the most experienced Master Distillers throughout the production process.  Master Distiller Chris Morris worked meticulously with the five sources of flavour to ensure an exceptional taste and a balanced flavour.

Commenting on Woodford Reserve’s Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, Chris Morris, Master Distiller, said: “Our commitment to flavour is something that is ingrained in everything we do and no liquid embodies that better than Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey. With its bold flavours of pepper and tobacco combined with its long fruit and sweetly spiced finish, it’s been really well received in the US and I’m sure the growing army of whiskey fans around the UK are going to find it really interesting.”

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, will be available in the UK from the end of July but will be available to sample at Imbibe Live in London on the 29th and 30th of June.
