ARRAN DISTILLERY ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF ITS FIRST WHITE STAG MEMBERS BOTTLING

The Isle of Arran Distillery has announced the release of its first White Stag bottling, chosen by a panel of its club members.

In January, a panel of Arran White Stag members gathered in Glasgow to taste five cask samples and without any input from the distillery team the panel chose Cask 97/737; a Sherry Hogshead, which will turn 18 Years Old on May 23rd.

In addition to selecting the whisky which will become the first whisky chosen by Arran’s online community, the panel’s comments during the selection process will form the official tasting notes for the whisky when it’s released on June 15th.

The tasting notes for Arran’s first White Stag bottling promise an enticing dram: A warm and buttery nose with a subtle pear note, nuances of vanilla, marzipan and apricots lead to a smooth palate of chocolate mousse and toasted marshmallows. With a deep finish of chilli and dark chocolate, this complex sounding dram is said to deliver all the Arran hallmarks of citrus and honey.

The White Stag is an online community open to all lovers of the Isle of Arran’s single malts. Free to sign up, it has become a thriving online forum with members travelling across the world to meet up for tastings and events.
