GLENTURRET DISTILLERY RELEASES RARE ONLINE EXCLUSIVE SINGLE CASK BOTTLING

The Glenturret Distillery has this week announced the released a rare 28 Year Old single cask bottling; The Brock Malloy Edition #Cask328, which has been described as the best cask that has ever been released by Scotland’s oldest working distillery.

On the 16th Decemeber 1986, two local stillmen, Hugh Malloy and Chic Brock delicately filled Cask 328 and skilfully warehoused the precious container to mature in the silence of the stunning hills of Perthshire, where it has remained for the past 28 years.

Although stillmen came and went, the cask required no repair work in its 28 years and when Neil Cameron, the current Distillery Manager, tasted its contents he described it as the best cask laid down from that year.

This attention and care from skilled hands resulted in notes that are said to be of walnuts, oranges and a hint of jasmine on the nose, with spicy ginger and honeycomb on the palate.

Commenting on the release, Stuart Cassells, General Manager of The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery said: “Glenturret single malt is a hidden gem in the whisky world. A genuinely handmade malt crafted with passion and care, or as we like to say: By Hand and By Heart. Cask 328 has always been known to be special and I’m delighted we are able to give people the opportunity to sample and buy this rare and exceptional whisky.”

Also commenting on the new release, Neil Cameron, Distillery Manager at Glenturret said: “In 1986, Chic Brock and Hugh Malloy were the two stillmen here lovingly crafting a Highland single malt in Perthshire, the same traditional way their relatives had 100 years before. You can taste the passion and the fine workmanship in the liquid. This has to be one of the best Glenturret malts I have ever tried.”

Bottled at cask strength, The Brock Malloy Edition #Cask328 comes in a wooden gift frame made by Mike Dempsy, a local carpenter. Each bottle is hand numbered & signed by Neil Cameron, Glenturret’s Distillery Manager.

Approximately 240 bottles of The Brock Malloy Edition #Cask328 will be available to buy exclusively online from May 1st via http://experience.thefamousgrouse.com/store/ for £200.
