GLENDRONACH LAUNCHES NEW 12 YEAR OLD SAUTERNES CASK FINISH

Award-winning Aberdeenshire distillery GlenDronach has today announced the launch of a new 12 Year Old Sauternes Cask Finish single malt Scotch whisky.

Replacing the acclaimed 14 Year Old Sauternes Wood Finish expression, which was launched four years ago, this latest bottling was initially matured in European oak casks, then finished in a small batch of Sauternes wine casks.

New - GlenDronach 12 Year Old Sauternes Cask Finsih

Sauternes is a sweet dessert wine made in the French region of Bordeaux, an area famous for its wine-growing. The aim of finishing the GlenDronach single malt in the wine casks is to create an extraordinarily refreshing single malt which is delicate and sweet with a balanced acidity and fruity complexity.

Master Distiller Billy Walker has described the new GlenDronach 12 Years Old Sauternes Cask Finish, as being crisp summer gold in appearance, with notes of apricots, nectarines, honeydew melon and overripe bananas on the nose, with notes of wildflower honey, sweet sultanas, green apples, ground almonds and vanilla on the palate.

Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, GlenDronach 12 Years Old Sauternes Wood Finish will be available from specialist retailers later this month for a RRP of £41.99.
