CANADIAN CLUB LAUNCHES NEW 100% RYE WHISKY IN CANADA

Canadian Club, the iconic brand that over the past 150 years has propelled the Canadian whisky category to fame around the world, has launched Canadian Club Chairman's Select 100% Rye, made 100 percent from single grain rye.

Canadian Club Chairman's Select 100% Rye is the first 100 percent rye whisky launched by one of the top three selling whisky brands in Canada. Robust and rye-forward but balanced with the hallmark CC smoothness, Canadian Club 100% Rye is the newest addition to the brand's line-up of award-winning rye whiskies including Canadian Club Premium and Canadian Club Classic 12 Year Old.

Canadian Club - 100% Rye

Canadian Club 100% Rye is aged using only rye grain in high quality bourbon barrels to impart a character that results in a taste-forward, smooth and premium whisky. This is what appeals to the discerning palates of a new generation of whisky drinkers and bartenders who want the robust spiciness of rye that works so well with classic cocktails such as the Manhattan and Old Fashioned.

Commenting on the new release, Dan Tullio, Master Ambassador for Canadian Whisky at Beam Suntory, said: "For those who love rye-forward, smooth and complex whiskies, Canadian Club 100% Rye Whisky delivers exactly that. With a beautiful antique gold colour, it has a balanced aroma of toasted grains, gentle wood notes and a hint of sweet vanilla. Tasting it neat, you experience a complex balance of rye spiciness, caramel and oak notes. The finish is long with hints of clove, oak and vanilla."

Inspired by the evolving palate preference of young Canadians exploring bold whiskies and bourbons, Canadian Club 100% Rye shows the brand's commitment to innovation and focus on producing premium, quality whisky. "Canadian Club 100% Rye is a great addition to the CC portfolio" says Tullio. "It will have whisky lovers excited about a delicious, new product that will enhance their CC experience."

Also commenting on the news, Rob Tucker, Senior Brand Manager for Canadian, American and Irish Whiskies at Beam Suntory, said: "Canadian whisky is poised to grow in the next few years, as discerning young whisky enthusiasts look for new brown spirits to enjoy. They are seeking authentic, high quality brands, such as Canadian Club, made with craftsmanship and care. The brand is meeting this changing taste preference with Canadian Club 100% Rye – it's more robust with a satisfying spiciness that is true to the rye grain."

Canadian Club 100% Rye uses 100 percent Canadian rye grain with occasional supplementation of US rye grains. Rye is a cold-weather grain that grows well in Canada's cereal grain-producing regions, thus making it an easily accessible ingredient for whisky making in this country.

Canadian Club 100% Rye is distilled by Calgary-based Alberta Distillers Ltd, and then cut to bottling strength and bottled in Walkerville, Ontario, the birthplace and home of Canadian Club.
