GLEN MORAY LAUNCHES ITS LATEST ELGIN HERITAGE COLLECTION BOTTLING

Glen Moray, has announced the launch of the latest bottling in its Elgin Heritage collection.

Glen Moray 21 Year-Old Portwood Finish (46.3% ABV) is a single malt Scotch whisky, which has been matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, before being finished in Port casks.

This latest release from the Elgin based distillery, is said to deliver notes of berried fruits smothered in creamy vanilla, rich caramel and fresh baked gingerbread on the nose. Followed by notes of blackcurrant, liquorice, chewy caramel toffee and chilli infused chocolate on the palate.

Commenting on the news, Graham Coull, Master Distiller at Glen Moray, said: “Glen Moray 21-Year-Old Portwood single malt whisky is the perfect balance of American oak and Port flavours. Immerse yourself in what is a wonderfully complex dram!”

Earlier this month, Glen Moray announced the launch of a new expression finished in Rhum Agricole casks from Martinique.

Glen Moray 21 Year-Old Portwood Finish, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £125.00.

LAGAVULIN LAUNCHES NEW TRAVEL RETAIL EXCLUSIVE BOTTLING

Diageo, has today announced the launch of a new Lagavulin single malt Scotch whisky expression, exclusive to Global Travel Retail.

Lagavulin 10 Year Old (43% ABV) has been matured in a combination of American Oak and first-fill ex-bourbon casks.

This latest release from the Islay based distillery, is said to be sweet and salty on the palate, with a spicy and smoky finish that is both intense and warming.

Commenting on the news, Diageo's Master of Malts, Dr Craig Wilson, said: "Many people see Lagavulin as the definitive Islay malt and, like other members of the family, this new expression has a charming exuberance and full-on character."

Lagavulin 10 Year Old, will be available later this month through Global Travel Retail outlets, for a RRP of £50.00.

TOMATIN UNVEILS NEW LOOK AND EXPRESSIONS FOR ITS CÙ BÒCAN RANGE

The Tomatin Distillery, has unveiled a new look and expressions for its Cù Bòcan single malt Scotch whisky range.

Cù Bòcan will continue to be distilled every winter in limited batches and made with lightly peated Scottish barley, but will now also explore innovative types of casks and maturation.

The Highlands based whisky brand is relaunching with three new expression; its Signature malt (46% ABV) matured in Bourbon, Oloroso sherry and North American virgin oak casks, Creation #1 (46% ABV) matured in Black Isle Brewery imperial stout and Bacalhôa Moscatel de Setúbal wine casks and Creation #2 (46% ABV) matured in Japanese Shochu and European Virgin Oak casks.

As part of the relaunch, Cù Bòcan have partnered with specialist drinks branding agency, Thirst Craft, for a distinctive redesign which now reflects Cù Bòcan’s contemporary spirit. The bespoke layered bottle is inspired by the different forces that interweave in order to unlock the unusual: subtle smokiness and surprising sweetness; meticulous preparation and unpredictable nature; lightly peated barley and unusual casks.

Commenting on the news, Stephen Bremner, Managing Director, said: “Consumer testing feedback reaffirmed that the Cù Bòcan spirit was exceptional with powerful potential, but were telling the wrong story. We’re excited this new positioning puts the product back at the heart of Cù Bòcan to welcome people into the world of lightly peated whisky and the unusual finishes that lie within.”

The new look Cù Bòcan range will be available later this month from special retailers, with the Signature and Creations bottlings, retailing for the respective RRP’s of £45.00 and £60.00.
