Glencairn Crystal, has announced that 2016 was its most profitable year on record, with unprecedented international growth across both its packaging and glassware sectors.

Glencairn Crystal announces that 2016 was its most successful year to date

The East Kilbride based company, has reported a 10% increase in sales, most notably coming from international expansion that has risen by 14% over the past year, making international sales larger than those in the UK for the first time in Glencairn’s history.

Having always been ahead of the curve on spirits packaging trends, Glencairn has continued to identify opportunities with emerging brands and be part of their growing and evolving teams.

The craft spirit sector is a great example of this - over 300 craft distilleries are now Glencairn clients including Balcones and Ironroot in Texas and Hudson in New York.

This, combined with a number of established medium and large-scale clients, has helped to make the company what it is today – including a recent large contract with Brown Forman in the USA, Tomatin, Glemorangie and Stolichnaya Group.

Commenting on the news, Scott Davidson, Director at Glencairn said: “We have worked tirelessly as a family owned company to ensure that we offer extraordinary customer service and innovation at every stage of our business. We are proud of what Glencairn has achieved – particularly on a global scale.”

He went onto say: “Our success internationally stems from our focus on relationship building and truly understanding our clients demands and needs, across spirit sectors and markets. We are fully focused on building this area of sales to ensure that Glencairn is synonymous with the world’s leading spirits brands, packaging and drinking experiences.”

The company’s defining product within the consumer whisky market, the Glencairn Glass, has also continued to be a success story, with over 3 million sales worldwide, recording a 22% increase in sales compared to the previous year.

In a full eclipse, the moon passes between the earth and sun. Day will become night and those watching will see the sun’s glowing corona.

The eclipse is predicted to scribe its shadow across Wyoming beginning in Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park and totally darken Lander, Thermopolis and Casper as it creeps to the east and will partially darken our distillery.

Bottles of Wyoming Whiskey’s Eclipse Edition, will come packaged in a limited edition black canister and each bottle will indicate the Eclipse Batch.

Commenting on the launch, David DeFazio, Founder of Wyoming Whiskey, said: “As a company founded on a commitment to Wyoming, we have created a once-in-a-lifetime expression of our Wyoming-made bourbon to accompany this once-in-a-lifetime event. While most batches are made with 40 barrels, Eclipse was created from only 24 barrels selected this spring by Sam (Mead), which means that only 1,000 cases are available."

Wyoming Whiskey Eclipse Edition, will be available later this month from specialist retailers in the US, for a RRP of $45.00.

Knob Creek 25th Anniversary Bourbon

Sixth Generation Beam Master Distiller Booker Noe originally created Knob Creek Bourbon, to restore the standards of pre-prohibition style whiskey, pushing the boundaries of an entire category with the introduction of super-premium, small batch bourbon.

Twenty-five years later, Booker’s son and Seventh Generation Master Distiller Fred Noe, is celebrating the milestone with the launch of this exclusive, limited-edition bourbon, which unites the signature whiskey making styles of Booker and Fred Noe for the first time.

Commenting on the launch, Fred Noe, said: “When Dad introduced Knob Creek and the Small Batch Bourbon Collection 25 years ago, he created it with the flavour, care and craftsmanship that defined high-quality, full-flavored bourbon. I am honoured to keep this tradition alive every day, and am proud to celebrate 25 years with our fans by releasing a special product that features Dad’s preferred ‘uncut and unfiltered’ style, combined with my passion for single barrel bourbons.”
