DIAGEO ANNOUNCES THE DETAILS OF THIS YEARS LAGAVULIN AND CAOL ILA FEIS ILE BOTTLINGS

Diageo, has today announced the launch of this years Lagavulin and Caol Ila, limited-edition Feis Ile bottlings.

Lagavulin Feis Ile 2018 – 18 Year Old (53.9% ABV) A marriage of refill and rejuvenated American Oak Hogsheads and ex Bodega European Oak Butts. Limited to 6,000 bottles. Caol Ila Feis Ile 2018 – 10 Year Old (58.2% ABV) Matured in Refill American Oak Hogsheads and Rejuvenated European Oak Butts. Limited to 2,496 bottles.

Lagavulin Feis Ile 2018 - 18 Year Old

The Lagavulin Feis Ile 2018 – 18 Year Old, is said by the brand to deliver notes of ripe and dried red berries, gooseberries, dried plums, dried grass and burnt oak chips on the nose. Followed by intensely sweet notes of coffee and chocolate on the palate.

The Caol Ila Feis Ile 2018 – 10 Year Old, is said by the brand to deliver notes of ashy embers, damp tobacco, sweet dark fruits, leathery and coffee grounds on the nose. Followed by a viscous and immediately sweet and syrupy palate.

Commenting on the launch, Colin Gordon, Lagavulin Distillery Manager, said: “The Feis festival is such an exciting time for Islay and we always look forward to inviting people into Lagavulin and Caol Ila. It’s great seeing new faces and familiar faces who return year after year.”

The Lagavulin Feis Ile 2018 – 18 Year Old, will be available from directly from the distillery on its open day, on Saturday May 26th, for a RRP of £130. The Caol Ila Feis Ile 2018 – 10 Year Old, will be available directly from the distillery on its open day, on Monday May 28th, for a RRP of £100.
