Havana Club Tributo 2018 (40% ABV) has been produced using a blend of rums that were hand selected by Asbel Morales, Havana Club Maestro del Ron Cubano, which were matured in 60 Year Old casks, before being finished in barrels that previously held smoky malt whisky.

The Havana Club Tributo collection, is a series of annual releases that pays tribute to the different elements of the authentic Cuban rum production process. This latest bottling, is said to honour the cask’s crucial role in the rum production process, showcasing the complex taste that maturation in oak casks adds to the original sugarcane distillate.
This latest release, which is the first ever Cuban rum to be finished in smoky whisky casks, is said to deliver notes of Oloroso sherry, toffee, cinnamon, old leather, smoke, iodine, apricot, dark raisins, bitter orange and a little bit of pipe tobacco on the nose. Followed by notes of fruitcake, dark chocolate and winter spice on the palate.

Limited to 2,500 bottles, Havana Club Tributo 2018, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of €400.00.
