BENRIACH LAUNCHES ITS SECOND CASK STRENGTH BATCH BOTTLING

The BenRiach Distillery, has announced the launch of the second bottling in its Cask Strength Batch series of single malt Scotch whiskies.

BenRiach Cask Strength - Batch 2 (60.6% ABV) has been produced using combination of bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak hogsheads, from 2006, 2007 and 2008, to create a triple-cask matured expression.

This latest release from the multi-award winning, Elgin based distillery, is said to have a richer and smoother taste profile to its predecessor; BenRiach Cask Strength - Batch 1, driven by notes of toffee apple, apricot and orange blossom and ginger spice on the nose, followed by notes of crème caramel, sugared almonds and ripe nectarines on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Rachel Barrie, BenRiach Distillery Master Blender, said: “Cask Strength Batch 2 is BenRiach in its most unadulterated state. At cask strength 60.6%, the drinker can taste straight from the vat, without chill-filtration, water or colour addition. Richly matured bourbon, Oloroso and virgin oak casks take the drinker on an adventure through the BenRiach Speyside warehouses.”

BenRiach Cask Strength - Batch 2, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £58.00.
