LAGAVULIN LAUNCHES ITS 2017 ISLAY JAZZ FESTIVAL BOTTLING

Diageo has today announced the launch of its annual Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival limited edition bottling, which will be available exclusively from the distillery’s shop.

Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival 2017 (57.6% ABV) is a no age statement bottling, which has been produced using whiskies which were matured in both refill American oak hogsheads and first fill American oak barrels.

This latest limited release from one of Islay’s most iconic distillery’s, is said to deliver notes of syrup, dried banana and wet bonfire smoke on the nose. Followed by notes of smoke, sweet ripe apple, nuts, white pepper and ashy/tobacco notes on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Georgie Crawford, Distillery Manager at Lagavulin distillery, said: “It’s been a special time for Lagavulin, as in 2016 we celebrated the 200th Anniversary of the distillery. This Jazz bottling is set to be another sell-out edition marking one of the best and busiest times on Islay.”

Limited to just 6,000 bottles. Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival 2017, is now available directly from the distillery, for a RRP of £99.00.
