Wyoming Whiskey Double Cask (50% ABV) has been produced using 5 Year Old Wyoming Whiskey bourbon, which was then finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.

This latest release from the Kirby based distillery, which was developed by Head Distiller Sam Mead and Master Blender Nancy Fraley, is said to deliver autumnal notes of dried apricots, figs, stewed prunes, blackcurrants and toasted nuts. Followed by hints of candied orange peel, vanilla butter cream and molasses.
Commenting
on the launch, David DeFazio, Wyoming Whiskey Co-Founder, said: “While
traditional bourbon continues to be our focus, it is important to show that a
variety of great whiskies can be made in Wyoming. Both our recent Outryder
Straight American Whiskey and Double Cask Sherry-Finished Bourbon are
outstanding. We decided to finish our five-year-old bourbon in Pedro Ximenez
barrels because they complement our base spirit perfectly. We may experiment
with other finishes in the future, but we’re really pleased with Double Cask’s flavour
profile.”
Last month,
Wyoming Whiskey announced the release of the latest batch of its Single Barrel
Bourbon, which followed on from their hugely successful first two batches,
which sold out upon release in November 2015.
Limited to
just 110 cases, Wyoming Whiskey Double Cask, will be available later this month
from specialist retailers in New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Illinois, Texas
and California, for a RRP of $59.99.
