GLENROTHES LAUNCHES NEW SINGLE CASK BOTTLING IN COLLABORATION WITH H.S.H PRINCE ALBERT II OF MONACO

Berry Bros & Rudd, has announced the launch of a new single malt whisky expression from its ‘The Glenrothes’ brand, as part of a collaboration between the multi-award winning Speyside distillery and H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The Glenrothes 1992 Dow’s Single Cask (57.1% ABV) was distilled in 1992 and finished in a port cask from the renowned Dow’s port house.

The final cask chosen for this limited release of just 322 bottles, was personally hand selected by H.S.H Prince Albert, who is a renowned connoisseur of single malts, Honorary Keeper of the Quaich and Honorary President of the Monte Carlo Whisky Society.

The Glenrothes 1992 Dow’s Single Cask, is the second whisky to join The Grimaldi Collection; a selection of rare single cask Scotch malt whiskies handpicked by the Prince.

Commenting on the launch, Ronnie Cox, Brands Heritage Director for The Glenrothes, said: “We are delighted that His Serene Highness Prince Albert selected The Glenrothes for his latest collaboration. The initial 27 casks were shortlisted down to three, and members of the Monte Carlo Whisky Society alongside Prince Albert discussed the merits of each casks highly unusual expression. After considerable debate the Dow’s Port Wood finish cask filled with whisky distilled in 1992 was selected.  This cask now becomes only the second bottling to join the The Grimaldi Collection.”

The Glenrothes 1992 Dow’s Single Cask, will be available later this month from La Maison D’Ecosse. RRP (tbc).
