DOUGLAS LAING & CO LAUNCHES LIMITED EDITION EDINBURGH THEMED BIG PEAT BOTTTLING

Leading independent Scotch whisky specialist, Douglas Laing & Co, has today announced the launch of a limited edition bottling of its Big Peat Islay blended malt, to coincide with launch of this year’s Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival.

Big Peat Edinburgh Edition (46% ABV) honours Scotland’s capital, with iconic landmarks prominently displayed on the bottle’s label and gift tube, featuring travel stamps of Waverley Station, The Scott Monument and Edinburgh Castle.

Big Peat Edinburgh Edition

Launched in 2009, Big Peat is part of Douglas Laing & Co’s Remarkable Malts collection, made up of The Epicurean from the Lowlands, Timorous Beastie from the Highlands, Scallywag from Speyside, Rock Oyster from the Islands and Big Peat from Islay.

Commenting on the launch, Cara Laing, Director of Whisky at Douglas Laing & Co, said: “Big Peat’s Edinburgh Edition is bottled in line with the Douglas Laing philosophy; proudly without colouring or chill-filtration, and at a high alcohol strength. Whilst Big Peat embodies the spirit of ‘his’ island home of Islay, this special bottling transports him and indeed the drinker to the cobbled streets and grassy hills of Edinburgh!”

Limited to 180 bottles, Big Peat Edinburgh Edition, will be available from specialist retailers later this month for a RRP of £50.00.
