ROYAL YACHT BRITANNIA LAUNCHES LIMITED EDITION SINGLE MALT TO CELEBRATE 18 YEARS IN EDINBURGH

The Royal Yacht Britannia has announced the launch of a very limited 18 bottle release Highland single malt Scotch whisky, to mark the 18th anniversary of Britannia’s arrival in Edinburgh, in 1998. 

Each bottle of HMY Britannia Highland Single Malt (40% ABV) comes presented in a solid mahogany case, and is individually numbered and signed by the Chairman of The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, Rear Admiral Neil Rankin CBE.

HMY Britannia Highland Single Malt, is said to deliver floral and citrus notes to the nose, followed by notes of bananas and barley on the palate.

On May 5th 1998, The Royal Yacht Britannia arrived in Edinburgh to berth at her new home at the historic port of Leith. In the 18 years that have followed, Britannia has become the leading tourist attraction in Scotland, with nearly five million visitors having enjoyed the opportunity to visit and learn about HM The Queen’s former floating palace.
