BURN STEWART ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF NEW 20 YEAR OLD DEANSTON SINGLE MALT

Burn Stewart Distillers has today announced the launch of a new 20 Year Old cask strength single malt whisky expression from its Highland distillery, Deanston.

Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old (55.3% ABV) has been matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks and like all of the brand’s single malts, has been crafted without the aid of modern technology, using only the finest Scottish ingredients, including barley grown in the local fields and soft water from the River Teith.

Formerly a cotton mill, Deanston Distillery has been producing single malt whisky since 1966. The metre-thick stone walls of the distillery’s warehouse are said to help create the perfect conditions to ensure a smooth, even maturation all year round.

The taste profile of Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old, is said to include hints of sherry mixed with warming gingerbread, nutmeg and white chocolate.

Commenting on the release, Alison Gibb, Global Marketing Manager at Burn Stewart Distillers said: “True to the heritage of Deanston Distillery, which is rooted in community values, the Oloroso 20 Year Old has been crafted with the utmost care and dedication. The rich, creamy, spicy influences imparted by the wood from the ex-Oloroso sherry casks give this malt a truly special character and we’re excited to announce its release in time for the festive season when it can be enjoyed with friends and family.”

Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old, will be available from specialist retailers later this month for a RRP of £110.00.
