THE SHETLAND DISTILLERY COMPANY LAUNCHES NEW BLENDED MALT

The Shetland Distillery Company, has announced the release of a new blended malt whisky, which was launched this week by Malcolm Roughead, Chief Executive of Visit Scotland at the distillery located at the former RAF Saxa Vord base.

Shetland Reel Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (47% ABV) has been bottled in Shetland, and is a blend comprising of four Speyside and one Islay cask strength single malts.

This latest launch follows on from the release of the distilleries inaugural batch of single malt whiskies in August, which were distilled on the mainland and bottled at their distillery in Shetland.

Commenting on the launch, Stuart Nickerson, Director of The Shetland Distillery Company, said: “This blended malt whisky follows on from the success of our Shetland Reel Single Malt Scotch Whisky, all 172 bottles of which sold out prior pre-launch. Our ‘Bottled in Shetland’ Scotch whiskies are precursors to us installing our own whisky still and distilling Unst whisky.

Shetland Reel Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, is limited to 1,800 bottles and will retail for a RRP of £45.00.
