The spirit will now be matured for three years to become true Irish whiskey. Earlier this year the Teeling Whiskey Company announced a €10 million investment in a new distillery and visitor centre in the Newmarket area of The Liberties, making it the first new distillery in Dublin in 125 years.

Over 100 jobs were created during the construction phase of the distillery and 30 permanent jobs are planned following completion. The distillery is due to open its doors to visitors in May of this year.
Commenting on the news, Jack Teeling, Founder and Managing Director of the Teeling Whiskey Company, said: “This is a huge milestone in the story of Teeling Whiskey. It has taken three years of planning, hard work and significant capital investment, but Teeling Whiskey is finally home. We are proud to be at the forefront of an emerging craft distilling movement and will continue to introduce high quality unique expressions of Irish whiskey to lead the expansion of the market in terms of depth and flavours."
Founded by Jack Teeling in 2012, the Teeling Whiskey Company was set up to revive his family-old trademark of Irish whiskey and bring distilling back to Dublin, where Walter Teeling had a distillery on Marrowbone Lane in the 18th century. The Teeling Whiskey Company is run by Jack together with his brother Stephen.
The new distillery will allow the Teeling Whiskey Company to continue to build on its reputation of producing some of the world’s best whiskies. Recently Teeling Single Malt was named ‘World’s Best’ at the 2015 World Whiskies Awards and Teeing Small Batch was awarded ‘Best Blended Irish Whiskey’ at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
