THE LAST DROP DISTILLERS RELEASE RARE 48 YEAR OLD BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY

The Last Drop Distillers have announced the release of their fourth limited edition bottling, a rare 48 Year Old blended Scotch whisky, limited to just 592 bottles.

The youngest malts and grains in the 48 Year Old blend, were distilled half a century ago in 1965, many are older and some of the whiskies used in the blend are from distilleries that fell silent and have long since closed.

Twenty-seven years ago, a small batch of the original blend was selected to be refilled into fresh ex-Bourbon American oak casks for further ageing. Since then these casks have been nurtured, gently maturing, tucked away in a forgotten corner of one of the oldest traditional warehouses in Highlands of Scotland.

The Last Drop Distillers 48 Year Old Blended Scotch whisky, is hand-filled directly from the cask at its natural strength of 48.6% ABV. Each bottle is dipped in hot wax to seal its driven cork and together with its signature 50ml replica miniature, comes packaged in the soft suede lining of a hand-made, forest green leather case.

Initially available in the UK, The Last Drop Distillers 48 Year Old Blended Scotch whisky will be available from Fine & Rare Wines for a RRP of £2,160.
