JURA UNVEILS NEW 1984 VINTAGE

Jura Whisky has today announced the official release of its 1984 vintage, created to honour the connection to the writer George Orwell who wrote the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four whilst staying on the island. This latest release follows on from the first Jura 1984 release just over a decade ago.

In 1984, Jura casked a small quantity of unambiguously excellent single malt whisky and thirty years later, Jura 1984 Vintage (44% ABV) has been released as a limited edition malt.

Jura 1984 Vintage

Jura 1984 Vintage is described as having an intense and uncensored taste, with notes of honey, vanilla, ginger, peach syrup and banana cake on the nose. On the palette, hints of ripe pineapple develop into bitter chocolate and a finish of rich morello cherries.

Commenting on the release, Willie Cochrane, Jura Distillery Manager, said: “Every good malt whisky has a story to tell and Jura’s tale is particularly unique. We’re delighted to add another exciting chapter with the release of this extraordinary limited edition vintage. Jura 1984 Vintage is an uncompromising addition to our range in homage to the island’s most distinguished guest. 1984 is certainly a year to remember.”

Jura 1984, is limited to just 1,984 individually numbered bottles and available worldwide for a RRP of £750.
