Tasmania’s Hellyers Road Distillery has a released a 12 Year Old Single Malt expression, its second age statement whisky.

Hellyers Road - New 12 Year Old Single Malt

Hellyers Road 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky imbues a calming softness, reflective of its age. An elegant, gentle spirit that extols an oily sweetness over tones of vanilla and citrus. The mellow aftertaste provides reward for effort and a subtle reminder of the pleasures this hallmark spirit embodies.

Hellyers Road Distillery featured strongly at the recent Malt Whisky Society of Australia’s Awards for Excellence announced in Adelaide. Hellyers Road’s limited edition, single cask release - The Gorge was recognised as the Nation’s second best single malt while its Peated and 10 Year Old also received high marks from the judging panel.

Commenting on their recent awards, Mark Littler, Hellyers Road Master Distiller, said: “I’m delighted with the results and particularly pleased that the distillery’s first single cask release had been so well received by the judges. These awards include single malt whiskies from around the globe and unsurprisingly Scottish brands featured quite highly in the overall standings. The Gorge was considered to be the 14th best whisky from several hundred entries and second best from an Australian distiller. That’s very encouraging for Hellyers Road Distillery and a fair reflection of our team’s hard work and dedication towards producing quality spirits.”

2014 has been a busy year for Hellyers Road. Apart from participation in the Malt Whisky Society Awards, it released two limited edition single cask whiskies and the distillery itself has welcomed in excess of 20,000 visitors.
