THE LAKES DISTILLERY LAUNCHES ITS CONNOISSUERS CLUB WITH EXCLUSIVE AND LIMITED SHERRY CASKS FOR MEMBERS

The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria, which is due to start whisky production this autumn, has this week announced that it is to produce 60 Sherry Casks which will be exclusively available to its Connoisseurs’ Club members.

The distillery founded by Paul Currie, will produce 60 very special Connoisseurs’ Club oak sherry casks, into which the first distilling of The Lakes Malt will flow.  Each cask is estimated to contain more than 100 bottles and members can be there on that historic first day to fill their own Connoisseur’s Cask and see it stored in the distillery warehouse.

Enjoy your own Lakes Distillery Sherry Cask as a Connoisseur’s Club Member

Club members will be able to decide when they would like to bottle their exclusive whisky, and the duty, VAT and delivery are all included in the cost of membership.  Club members can either bottle it all at the same time, or spread the bottlings over 10 years.

Each cask will contain over 100 bottles, and given the very unique nature of the malt whisky, taken from The Lakes Distillery’s first ever production, it is estimated that the value of each cask could be in excess of £20,000 (Based on each bottle being worth around £200 after 10 years).

In addition to the unique signature Connoisseur’s Club casks, members will be able to exclusively enjoy a yearly Connoisseurs’ Dinner, when they can personally taste the maturing malt from their very own cask. This will also include overnight accommodation at the nearby 4-star Trout Hotel.

Members will also receive a gift of a commemorative limited edition print, taken from a specially commissioned painting of the distillery, along with invitations to exclusive events at The Lakes Distillery.
